1943 Cover from England to British POW c/o JRC Tokyo
MALAYAN P.O.W. British/Australian forces in Malaya Added:

1943 Cover from England to British POW c/o JRC Tokyo 14th January 1943 H Houghton Titmarsh was a Lieutenant in the 2nd Battalion Cambridgeshire Regiment as shown in the address on the cover. The cover has beenD BY EXAMINER 5243 in the UK and resealed using PC90 label. It has a Cambridge circular datestamp. The inscription indicates it was received on the 9th May 1944, at Changi Jail 17 months after mailing. It is marked "19"? And "H" in pencil received. The 19 is his guess as to the sequential number of letters sent and received. The "H" may indicate he was with H Force sent to the Railway in May 1943 and who returned to Singapore, initially Syme Road in late December 1943. There are no Japanese censor marks. (pt # 11)
